Is the custom of exchanging gifts among youth spoiling the festive spirit?
Though exchanging gifts on festivals is part of western culture, Indians have very well gelled themselves with this pattern. Exchanging gifts has become a way of expressing one’s affections. In my view, it does not spoil the spirit of the season. In fact, it inculcates the habit of saving money in youngsters. Moreover in today's world of get-into-work-early environment where one can earn even while studying, such a tradition motivates youngsters to work harder. Thus exchanging gifts is a culture adopted for good and causes no harm.

Wearing of uniform should be considered sacrosanct as done during school days and later in corporate employment indicating flock of similarity. Public admire defence forces and medicos in white coat dress, surely to draw similar adoration of uniform.

Encouraging Sports!
There is no shortage of talented sportspersons in the beautiful smoke free city of Chandigarh. Our administration is no doubt providing opportunities and facilities to these gifted people. But my viewpoint is that they are not as sufficient as they need to be. Cricket dominates all other sports all over in India. This is the reason other games are not getting their respectable position. These sportspersons are always worried about their financial problems. As an instance, international hockey star Rajpaul Singh doesn't even posses a house, while cricketer Yuvraj Singh has earned more than enough. Big companies and industrialists should come forward to give financial support to other games so that the sportspersons can concentrate fully on their respective sport and earn laurels for the country.

Curb violence in university campuses
These days, violence has increased on campuses across India. In order to tackle with this, there should be one or two psychologists in every campus to counsel students who are aggressive in nature. In this way, students can personally share their problems with the psychologist and also get tips from them to deal with aggression. Secondly, an hour long meditation sessions should be held in every college campus before lectures on a regular basis. This will help students start their day with peace of mind and also make them learn to take things in a positive manner instead of resorting to violence.
